Mitsubishi Motors Australia will continue as a Major Partner of the NBL until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia will continue as Major Partner, and Official Vehicle Partner, of the NBL after a new deal was agreed that will extend the partnership through to the end of the 2027/28 season.

The new deal strengthens the already strong connection between the two brands. Mitsubishi Motors Australia was a major partner of basketball and the NBL for nine years, beginning in the early 1990s, and returned as a Major Partner of the NBL in 2023. Since then, the award-winning car manufacturer has played a key role in helping the league drive significant growth across the basketball landscape.

“We are thrilled to have Mitsubishi Motors Australia extend the partnership for another three years,” NBL CEO, David Stevenson, said.

“Mitsubishi Motors’ continued support and long legacy with the NBL has led to significant gains on and off the court and we look forward to that continuing well into the future. Together we have helped connect and engage with fans existing and new, and we know there are even bigger and better things to come.

“Two of the most important aspects of the NBL are a commitment to families through community engagement and innovative thinking pushing the limits on what we can achieve, and we share those priorities with Mitsubishi Motors, which is a key pillar in driving the partnership forward.

“We are experiencing unprecedented growth in TV viewership, attendances and digital engagement. As we celebrate all those achievements and many others, we acknowledge we wouldn’t be in this position without the incredible support of global powerhouse brands like Mitsubishi Motors.

“We’d like to thank Mitsubishi Motors CEO Shaun Westcott and the wider team in sharing the desire to drive mutual growth and championing a fantastic spirit of partnership.”

The NBL and Mitsubishi have many shared values and in particular, both are committed to families and meaningful community engagement.

“At Mitsubishi Motors Australia, family is at the heart of what we do, just as it is for the NBL. Families who love the excitement of basketball often seek vehicles that are safe, reliable, and ready for life’s adventures - qualities that Mitsubishi is proud to deliver,” Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO, Shaun Westcott, said.

“We place great value on community engagement and are thrilled to continue partnering with the NBL to make an impact across the basketball community, supporting growth at every level - from grassroots to elite.

“Mitsubishi Motors Australia drives Australians to be more adventurous, both on and off the court. Through our partnership with the NBL, we aim to inspire Australia’s next generation of basketball players, fostering a love for the game and the values it represents.”

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan.
