NBL expert Derek Rucker believes Bryce Cotton’s sensational run of form is becoming can’t miss TV.
The Perth Wildcats superstar is averaging 37.2 points in his past nine games, including a 36-point outburst in Wednesday night’s win over Brisbane.
With five games scoring 40 points or more this season, including a career-high of 59 points in December, Rucker is running out of words to describe Cotton’s greatness.
“I don’t know what more we can say about him, this is starting to be you can’t miss it. And you have to watch Bryce when he’s coming to town right now,” Rucker said on NBL Now.
“That was the easiest 36 points I think I’ve seen in a number of years.
“We’ve seen Andrew Johns in the NRL dominate. We’ve seen Dustin Martin in the AFL put together performances and big moments that are legacy-like moments.
“And Bryce is doing something right now...that I think is going to be spoken about for decades to come.”
Along with a historic scoring streak, Rucker also praised Cotton’s ability to impact winning more than anything else.
The Wildcats have won six of their last seven games, all coming on the road, as they chase a spot in the top two.
“Perth are a real danger. And not to diss the Sydney Kings or Melbourne United, I think they match up pretty well against Illawarra,” Rucker said.
“I think they’ve got a gear offensively that no one else has got,” NBL Now host Jack Heverin added.
The Wildcats return home on Friday night against the Adelaide 36ers. Watch the game live from 9:30pm AEDT on ESPN.
